INTRODUCTION TO TV PRODUCTION (9th - 12th Grade)

 

Are you interested in learning how to edit videos or work with cameras? Do you want to strengthen your communication skills and learn a valuable 21st-century skill that will set you apart from others in the workforce? Join the TV Production program at VHHS! 

 

The Introduction to TV Production class will work to produce the daily VNN (Vestavia News Network) Announcements for both the Freshman and the Main Campus. Students will learn how to edit videos using Adobe PremierePro and create  graphics using Adobe Photoshop, with the goal of eventually earning the Adobe Certified Associate industry credential.

 

Students in the Introduction to TV Production class will have the opportunity to work with the VH Athletics Department to promote the sports programs at the school. Students will also have opportunities to partner with VHCS and local businesses to promote events in the schools and surrounding community.

ADVANCED TV PRODUCTION (INTERNSHIP - 11th & 12th Grade)  

 

Prerequisite: Completion of Introduction to TV Production (*AN EXCEPTION WILL BE MADE FOR RISING SENIORS FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR; HOWEVER, THESE STUDENTS MUST HAVE PRIOR VIDEOGRAPHY/PHOTOGRAPHY/GRAPHIC DESIGN EXPERIENCE)

 

Are you interested in pursuing a career in Digital Media, Video Production, or Broadcast Journalism? Do you want an opportunity to gain real-world experience in this field? Sign up for Advanced TV Production! This course is the 2nd course in the TV Production pathway. Advanced TV Production is designed to offer juniors and seniors real-world experience in the digital media / video production career field. Students in this course will have opportunities to partner with VHCS and local businesses to promote events in the schools and surrounding community. Students in this course can also intern with the VH Athletics Department, creating hype videos for sports teams, graphics for social media, and running the video board at home sporting events. 

 

Students in Advanced TV Production will conclude the school year by creating a portfolio and will be given the opportunity to take the Adobe Certified Associate certification test, which, if passed, will give them a leg up on entering the workforce and aid them in finding jobs in the Digital Media / Video Production field.
